Samantha nodded. She rolled the bread and cheese back up and put it in her pocket. "Yes. It's very good." she said. She hadn't eaten much of it though.

Jim frowned, then sighed, "I know you don't like John very much.... But, he's not as bad as you think..."

Samantha looked at the boards for a minute before looking back up. "Are you part of his crew?" she asked. She couldn't remember if he was or not.

"Oh, no, I vollenteer for Captian Sparrow before he did. But I work with him in the galley, you know. He's really very funny and quite nice." Jim said and smiled. "I imagine if my father were alive today he'd like John... maybe even be a bit like him... I would hope."

"Oh. Good." Samantha said, relieved that she wouldn't have to leave Jim.

((Skipping to night time cuz I want this up...))
“Mr. Whitmire? Steve turned around and saw Captain Indy Sparrow standing a few feet away from him.
“Steven, please. Or Steve.”
“Oh, well, then, Steve, dinner’s ready.”
“Thank you, but I already ate. Smollett told me to keep watch, so I had dinner early.” Indy doubted he had had much, if at all. Smollett hadn’t mentioned anything about Steve eating earlier. Indy spotted an apple in Steve’s hand, the other hand holding his wrist, clasped behind his back.
“Shame. I was quite looking forward to having dinner with you and Capt. Smollett. Well, you mostly.” Indy corrected.
“Steve smiled, looking down, “Well… You know, Smollett doesn’t trust many on this ship,” He said more seriously, the smile fading. “”He doesn’t think Jim, or even Fozzie would be able to defend themselves properly. And that I’m first mate and all…” Steve trailed off, not entirely sure how two captains, three counting Jack, and himself really fit in according to ranks. “You understand, don’t you?”
“Yes, of course. Still I think if you were present at dinner I would feel more comfortable..”
Steve smiled again, “Thank you; maybe next time. But don’t worry about Smollett. If you’d like dinner conversation outside of business, he very much likes music and literature. Shakespeare especially. ‘Hamlet’, and ‘ ‘Much ado about nothing.’ He likes opera as well.” Steve said, then realized Indy, being a pirate, may not be as well read as a navy man. But Indy smiled and Steve felt a little more at ease, though foolish about his assumptions.
“’Hamlet’ and ‘Much ado about nothing’ are my favorites as well.” Indy smiled, nodding, “Thank you, Steven.” She paused as if considering something for a moment, then walking to the captain’s dining room that she had built resembling Jack’s on the Black Pearl. “Good night,” She turned to say, then opened the door.
“Good night.” Steve nodded and smiled, walking about the ship, as a light fog began to settle in.
Indy awoke in a cold sweat and sat up, covering her face with her hands. This was the second time she had the dream of the last time she had spoken to Mr. Whitmire. She felt a chill and rose from her bed slowly, hoping not to disturb—
“Where you going, lass?”
Indy shivered, rising anyway, reaching for her dressing gown. ((It’s a robe, really. But if this was written back then it would have been dressing gown, ala, Scrooge beat the shadowy creature to a pulp with the fireplace poker before his eyes adjusted to the light. “Oh. It’s my best dressing gown.” But Scrooge had now made it his worst. Perhaps he’d throw it out and leave it for the homeless singing bunny. But that would make him generous, and that would be ruining the story. Sorry, got carried away…))
John’s hand reached for her wrist as she stepped away from the bed. She jerked her hand away.
“I can’t sleep. I’m not going outside without my gown. You’ve gotten what you want, leave me be.” She spoke harshly and expected John to respond even harsher.
“Fine,” He grumbled, apparently too tired to care where she went at the moment. “But if I hear you’ve been plotting against me, you won’t be the one beside me tomorrow night. Remember that.”
Indy sighed, swallowing hard and closing her robe, tying it around her waist. She exited her cabin, her bare feet tingling with the cold. She disgusted herself, sleeping with Steve’s murderer… But there were extenuating circumstances. She was sure Steve would understand that. She was also sure he wouldn’t have let this have gone on for more than one night.

Samantha had been up already and saw Indy. She walked over to her. "Are you all right?" she asked.

Indy jumped, not having expected anyone up with her. She sighed seeing Samantha and nodded, "Yes. I just couldn't sleep..." She wanted to stop there, push Samantha away as she had done before. But she did like the girl and even more because of recent events felt the need to protect her. Indy turned away, looking out to the ocean and shook her head, "I just had a bad dream... Wel, it wasn't really bad, but... It made me quite unhappy when I awoke."

"It's John." Samantha said as she walked closer. "I know it is. Don't lie to me I'm not that stupid. I know what you've been doing with him. But I won't tell anyone I promise."

"It wasn't John it was Steve." Indy said, her hands gripping the rails. "As for what I've been doing with John, I don't know what you're talking about. I broke things off with John long before they even started. Before I met Steven, before Athos died, so there's certainly nothing between us now."

Samantha rolled her eyes secretly and walked closer to Indy so she could look at her. "I know what he's been making you do. You two come out of the same room, and I know that you wouldn't be doing this as a choice." Samantha said getting quieter.

Indy sighed, as if she were annoyed and gritted her teeth. "You've seen nothing of the sort, Samantha. And if you don't mind, i would like to be left alone." She answered stonily, ignoring the tears that bruned in her eyes.

Samantha turned on her heel and walked away from Indy. She climbed up to the nest and wrapped herself in the blanket that was up there since last time she was there.

As soon as Samantha had gone, Indy began sobbing. She wrapped her arms around her stomach, looking out to the ocean and wept. She hated what she was doing and hated even more that Samantha had found out. Hopefully she wouldn't tell anyone, not that Indy really thought she would anyway. But if Jack ever found out... John would probably take over the ship sooner and ruin their plan.
On top of that, the loss of Steve ached more deeply than any death she had experienced. She had only known him for a short time, they never even shared a kiss, but her pain was almost unbearable and she didn't truely understand why he was effecting her so much.

Samantha heard Indy crying and knew she was right. Indy had been with John. Slowly Samantha crawled down from the nest and went to the brigg and looked at Jack. She wasn't going to tell Jack anything, but she just wanted to talk to him.

Jack laid on his bench, his hat over his face, snoring loudly. He muttered every once in a while and then suddenly awoke, yelling something unintelligeble. He turned quickly to Samantha and sighed in releif.
"You nearly killed me. What time is it?" Jack stood and looked outside, seeing it was still dark, "What do you want, Sam?" He turned back to her, sitting on his bench.

"Sleep, is what I needed. Although i wouldn't mind a book or something either. There's nothing to do. The keys would be good as well." Jack said, flashing a charming grin. Then his smile faded and he frowned, "What on earth are you doing up anyway?"

"I couldn't sleep." Samantha answered quickly. She pulled a book out of her pocket and walked to Jack. She slid the book through the bars and waited for Jack to take it. "Here." she said. "I've read it four times already, I don't need to read it a fifth. I think you'd like it. It's about a man and a woman going on adventures all around the world together."

Jack raised an eyebrow, taking the book from her. He looked at the titled and set it aside. "I think you came down here for a reason, lass."
